The Mj Media Productions ribbon cutting and open house event was a blast! There are many times that I am in awe of how uniquely supportive and loving our community of Lebanon, Oregon is, and this event once again reminded me of just how blessed I am to be planted here.
If you have not yet gotten connected to your local Chamber of Commerce, run don't walk to their office now and sign up! The support and camaraderie of your fellow businesses will be invaluable to your growth and success.
Alas, I step off my soapbox.
Anywho... When planning the event, I knew there would be many folks attending who have much more experience than I do when it comes to starting, growing, and operating a business. I thought it would be a neat idea to ask attendees to write down their best piece of business advice on a piece of paper, fold it up, and put it in a box so I could read them from time to time.
The answers did not disappoint! And I'm going to share them with you now,
Stay true to yourself. If you don't take care of yourself, you'll have no time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Ignore the haters, stay positive!
Always do the right thing! Be you!
To succeed in business 1) Pray before every decision and 2) Stay true to your heart (trust your instincts).
If you watch your nickels and dimes, the dollars will take care of themselves.
Vet your accountant OR be your own accountant.
Think outside of the box and take chances!
